The green gym on Kingsmead Field Village Green was installed in January 2022 for use by the local community. It was funded in part by the Friends of Kingsmead Field through generous donations by local residents and by grants from Cllr Graham Gibbens from Kent County Council, the Playing Fields Association and Canterbury City Council.
The green gym features a big rig and six further pieces of individual equipment. It is designed for use by many different members of the community with a variety of access needs and experience levels. The pieces are suitable for anyone over the age of 11 and is used at your own risk. Please seek medical advice before exercising for the first time, especially if you have any health issues.
Our Green Gym
Big Rig

It encourages creativity, using for example bands or training straps to adjust difficulty and provides places to hang punch bags. It’s ideal for individual and group training for all abilities.
The big rig includes: step up, hip twister, lateral pull down, chest press, leg lift, leg press, dorsal raise, sit up bench, monkey & ninja bars, various pull up bars and a vertical ladder for stretching.
