The Friends of Kingsmead Field is a voluntary group. It was formed in 2015 following a three-year campaign aimed at saving the field from residential development. You can find out more about this campaign on the >Save the Kingsmead Field website.
The remit of the Friends Group is to work in partnership with Canterbury City Council to protect, enhance and maintain the field for the use of community, now and in the future. For this purpose, the Council and the Friends Group have signed a Memorandum of Understanding.
